Ghana, officially the Republic of Ghana, is a country located along the Gulf of Guinea and the Atlantic Ocean in the sub-region of West Africa. Formerly known as the Gold Coast. Ghana is they say is the gateway to Africa and the first country in black Africa to gain independence. Ghana is famous for its friendly people, rich and colourful culture. Also known for diverse wildlife, old forts and secluded beaches Ghana has 3 colours in the national flag which are red, yellow and green with a black star in the centre.
The red represents the blood of those people who died in the country’s struggle for independence, the yellow represents the mineral wealth of the country and the green symbolizes the country’s rich forest and natural wealth and the black star is the symbol of emancipation.
