Step into the heart of Ghana on this 10-Day Central Ghana Experience,. A journey that blends culture, history, nature, and connection. From the vibrant streets of Accra to the traditions of the Ashanti Kingdom, cascading waterfalls, sacred sites, and peaceful lakeside moments, this trip offers an authentic and meaningful way to explore Ghana. Designed for travelers seeking more than sightseeing, this experience invites you to connect with the land, the people, and the stories that shape Ghana leaving with memories, understanding, and a deeper sense of belonging.
Upon arrival in Ghana, complete immigration and meet your guide for a hotel transfer. Evening guests receive light refreshments before check-in, followed by a traditional welcome ceremony with drinks and dinner. This is a beautiful introduction to Ghanaian culture.
Day 2: Explore Accra 鈥 Ghana鈥檚 Vibrant Capital
Today, we explore Accra, a city rich in history, culture, and energy. We will visit the Independence Square and stand beneath the iconic Black Star Arch, symbols of Ghana鈥檚 freedom. From here, we will continue to the National Museum to learn about Ghana鈥檚 heritage, then pay your respects at the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum. We will have lunch and experience the lively atmosphere of Makola Market, bursting with color, trade, and local life. We will have some rest and get ready for our evening vibrant nightlife experience.
Day 3: Aburi Botanical Gardens & Asenema Waterfalls
After breakfast, we travel to the Aburi Botanical Gardens, where we will learn about African herbs, medicinal plants, and their cultural significance. From here, we continue to Asenema Waterfalls for a refreshing dip and relaxation. After lunch, we return to Accra for downtime, with an optional evening out depending on the group鈥檚 energy.
Day 4: Drive to Kumasi via Bonwire Kente Village
We journey north to Kumasi, the cultural capital of the Ashanti Kingdom. Along the way, we stop at Bonwire Kente Village, the birthplace of the world-famous Kente cloth. Learn about its history, symbolism, and deep cultural meaning within Ashanti society. After lunch in Kumasi, we check in and relax. In the evening, we may explore Kumasi鈥檚 nightlife, experiencing the city鈥檚 modern and energetic social scene.
Day 5: Explore Kumasi 鈥 Heart of the Ashanti Kingdom
Today, we dive deeper into Ashanti history and traditions. Visit the Kumasi Cultural Centre, followed by the Manhyia Palace Museum, the seat of the Ashanti kings. We then visit the Okomfo Anokye Sword Site, where the legendary sword is planted(unmoved for over 400 years)symbolizes Ashanti unity. After lunch, experience the vibrant energy of Kejetia Market, the largest open-air market in West Africa. The evening is at leisure, with an optional night out.
Day 6: Wildlife & Waterfall Experience
After breakfast, we travel into the Bono (Brong-Ahafo) Region, known for its rich natural landscapes. Our first stop is the Buabeng-Fiema Monkey Sanctuary, where we enjoy a guided, respectful interaction with Mona monkeys in their natural habitat while learning about conservation efforts.
Next, we continue to the stunning Kintampo Waterfalls, exploring its multiple stages and canopy walkway before cooling off beneath the cascading falls. After lunch, we check in to our accommodation and relax for the rest of the day.
Day 7: Traditional Cooking Experience & Tanoboase Sacred Groves
Today begins with a visit to Techiman Market, Ghana鈥檚 oldest market, where we purchase fresh ingredients for our traditional Ghanaian cooking class. Everyone takes part, playing an active role in preparing the meal, an authentic and hands-on cultural experience.
After the class, we visit the Tanoboase Sacred Groves, home to unique rock formations. Here, we learn about the history, spiritual significance, and stories connected to the land.
Day 8: Drive to Lake Bosomtwi
After breakfast, we drive south to Lake Bosomtwi, Ghana鈥檚 largest natural lake. This is a slow, peaceful day designed for rest and reflection. Enjoy the calm atmosphere, relax by the lakeside, and later take a boat cruise to appreciate the beauty and serenity of the surroundings.
Day 9: Rest, Cruise & Farewell Dinner
Today is dedicated to rest and relaxation. Later, we enjoy another boat cruise on Lake Bosomtwi, learning about the lake鈥檚 history and cultural importance. In the evening, we gather for a farewell dinner, celebrating the journey, the memories made, and the meaningful experiences shared.
Day 10: Departure
Depending on your departure time, we will transfer you to the airport to ensure a smooth and stress-free journey home.
