Day 1: Arrival in Ghana
Akwaaba! Welcome to Ghana. On arrival at Kotoka International Airport, you鈥檒l be warmly greeted by your guide and assisted through formalities. A light snack will be provided if your flight arrives late, before transferring to your hotel to settle in. In the evening, we gather for a welcome dinner and drinks, officially beginning your Ghanaian adventure.
Day 2: Discover Accra
The day begins with an immersion into the vibrant capital city. We鈥檒l visit Independence Square and the Black Star Arch, monuments to Ghana鈥檚 freedom, and the National Museum to explore the country鈥檚 art, history, and cultural treasures. At the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum, we will honor the legacy of Ghana鈥檚 first president before heading to Makola Market, where colors, fabrics, and local energy bring the city alive. We will have lunch and drive to accommodation for some downtime. In the evening, we will experience Accra鈥檚 buzzing nightlife.
Day 3: Aburi Botanical Gardens & Asenema Waterfalls
This morning, we鈥檒l head to the cool Eastern hills to explore the Aburi Botanical Gardens, where we鈥檒l learn about African plants, herbs, and their medicinal importance.
From here, we鈥檒l continue to the picturesque Asenema Waterfalls for a refreshing nature stop. After lunch, we鈥檒l return to Accra and in the evening, enjoy some bar-hopping, depending on the mood of the group.
Day 4: Hike Mount Afadjato & Visit Wli Waterfalls
We travel into Ghana鈥檚 Eastern Highlands, beginning with a hike up Mount Afadjato, the country鈥檚 highest peak, offering panoramic views of the lush landscape.
After the hike, we鈥檒l continue to Wli Waterfalls, the highest waterfall in West Africa, cascading in two tiers. Brave travelers may take a dip in the refreshing plunge pool beneath the falls. We鈥檒l return to our hotel in the evening for rest and overnight stay.
Day 5: Volta Lake Adventure via Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary
After breakfast, we journey to the Volta Lake region for a day of adventure. En route, we鈥檒l stop at the Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary, where friendly Mona monkeys roam freely and can be fed.
Arriving at Volta Lake, we鈥檒l enjoy activities such as kayaking and abseiling, followed by lunch at the lakeshore. Tonight, we stay in accommodation right by the lake鈥檚 edge.
Day 6: Cruise, Shai Hills & Farewell Dinner
This morning, we鈥檒l set off on a scenic cruise on the Volta Lake, the largest man-made lake in the world by surface area. From here, we鈥檒l drive back toward Accra, making a stop at the Shai Hills Forest Reserve, where wildlife and savannah landscapes meet. Arriving in Accra, we鈥檒l visit the Arts Centre, the perfect spot for purchasing souvenirs and gifts for friends and families back home. In the evening, we鈥檒l celebrate the journey with a farewell dinner and congratulate ourselves for taking this trip.
Day 7: Departure
We will enjoy a relaxed morning before your departure. Depending on your flight schedule, we鈥檒l ensure a smooth airport transfer so you can head home with wonderful memories of your Eastern Explorer adventure.
